The Daily Kick at 16 weeks!

For all those that voted in our online poll, the results are now in! We are having a Girl! We are so excited.

While in route to our doctor's appointment this past Friday, Bruce said "I have a hunch we are having a girl." I thought so too, but of course it really didn't matter to either of us. Our main concern is having a safe and healthy pregnancy and baby. While getting a routine ultrasound at 4 months, the technician asked if we wanted to know what we were having. Without even looking at each other, we both responded in unison, "YES!" It was then she told us Baby Moore is a girl! To which Bruce replied, "How sure are you?" She said, "Oh, 100% for sure!"

The technician did give us a picture of Baby Moore's girl parts, but because we know she is modest we won't post that picture! There will be plenty of time in the future for Bruce and I as parents to embarrass Baby Girl Moore!

The Daily Kick

For the sake of making this blog official, we are pregnant! Of course, most of you already knew that, but we do not seem to get tired of hearing it or saying it. Baby Moore decided to get in on the blogging world and share a little about himself/herself.

To catch everyone up on the details, our pregnancy was confirmed at our first doctors visit on January 3, 2008. We were thrilled to hear the doctor say "you are pregnant" but she quickly followed that by saying "but don't tell anyone!" She encouraged us to get through the first trimester before making any official announcements. (We did tell our families because being pregnant is the hardest secret to keep.)

Each visit to the doctor has been filled with anticipation. On January 18, we heard Baby Moore's heartbeat for the very first time. We were stunned at how fast and strong the heartbeat was even at 8 weeks...170 beats per minute. Bruce and I just looked at each other in amazement not really being able to find the words to express the emotions that were quickly overtaking our hearts and minds.

It seemed like an eternity before February 29 rolled around. Another sonogram at week 12 showed that Baby Moore was growing like a weed. We could clearly detect arms, fingers, legs, eyes, and a nose. Baby Moore was extremely active bouncing all around and even seemed to wave at us. No matter what this baby is, boy or girl, I think he and Baby Jonah Deming are going to be inseperable at King Family Holidays. (For those of you who don't know my younger sister, Melissa, is also pregnant identical twin boys!)

Our next doctor's appointment is March 28. Bruce asks daily, "when do we get to see our baby again?" Until then, happy speculating about the gender of Baby Moore.
